In January 1981, the MRSZ (Hungarian Aviation Association) approved a program that was intended to commemorate the half-century Hungarian ocean flight marking the anniversary. His Beechraft single-engine V-35 Bonanza took off in July 1981 with two pilots (Laszlo Krug and Zsigmond Németh) from Newfoundland, and after a 17 hour flight the next day early in the evening arrived at Ferihegy Airport in Budapest.
